Preschool (ages 33 months–4 years old)
Children who are at least 33 months old by September, are eligible to attend preschool at Cedar Early Childhood Center for the school year. CECC offers multiple preschool classrooms to best support the developmental, social-emotional, and academic needs of preschool students.
Our mission is to instill a love of learning in our youngest preschool students as they become acclimated to the school routine. Activities in this classroom are designed to cultivate joyful, meaningful relationships with peers and teachers! Bathroom independence is not required for participation in our 33 month-3 year old preschool classroom.
Seasoned preschool students thrive in stimulating learning environments. Our 3-4 year old preschool classrooms provide additional challenge, experiential learning, and playful interactions with peers and educators to support the rapidly developing skills and curiosities of our older preschool students.
Preschool classes are offered Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Child care is available before and after class, 7:00-5:30 p.m. for additional fees.
Children who are 4 years old by September, are eligible for the Kindergarten Preparation (K Prep) program at CECC. The Kindergarten Prep class option is intended for students who will be enrolling in a Young Fives or conventional kindergarten program the following school year.
Our early childhood programs are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC®). NAEYC® accredited centers adhere to standards and practices that exceed licensing standards. NAEYC® standards reflect best practices in early childhood education programs that are supported by research and ongoing evaluation of programs.
